BUSINESS AS USUAL FOR THE CONTRACTOR COMMUNITY

The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) is a part of the government shutdown occurring today. It is important for federal contractors and subcontractors to know that there will be no communication from the OFCCP staff during this shutdown. There is no timeline for how long the shutdown will last; it could be a day or much longer. Currently, the Department of Labor and OFCCP websites have the following notice posted:

NOTICE: Due to suspension of Federal government services, this website is not being regularly updated.

Federal contractors and subcontractors should decide how to address ongoing audit requests and deadlines. DCI Consulting Group (DCI) is recommending a ‘business as usual motto’ to ensure full compliance with the OFCCP. What does this mean? DCI encourages a timely submission to audit requests or audit submissions due during this shutdown. Acknowledge the shutdown in any communication sent to the government during this time and ask to be contacted about the request or audit submission when the government resumes business.
