Use of 2010 Census Data in 2014

Earlier this year, OFCCP informed the contractor community that the 2006-2010 American Community Survey (ACS) EEO Tabulation must be used in affirmative action plans commencing on or after January 1, 2014. The EEO Tabulation was released by the United States Census Bureau. This data is used by the federal contractor community to calculate, by job group, the availability percentage of qualified minorities and women. Federal contractors then determine whether the percentage of minorities and women employed in each job group is less than would reasonably be expected given their availability percentage.
